Reading and phonics · the library
47 lessons in two kinds: reading passages drawn from Scripture and prayer, and short sound lessons that teach the letters and blends a child needs to read them. Three levels, from a first believable line to confident longer reading. Each lesson is a few minutes at a kitchen table, and each one ends with a line to carry into the rest of the day.
Where to start
Thank God aloud for one good thing in creation after the lesson ends.
Mercy, sound, and story belong together.

How a lesson goes at home
Read the line to your child first. Then read it together. Then let them finish one line alone. One believable line matters more than a page of guessed reading. Later in the day, at prayer, over chores, on a walk or at bedtime, bring the strongest line back once more.
What the lessons are
36 of the 47 lessons teach something new. They fall into three kinds of holy reading and one kind of sound work, and each kind asks for a different kind of coaching.

Review and moving up
A review lesson repeats a level’s strongest lines when a child needs another pass. A move-up check is one short lesson that tells you honestly whether they are ready for the next level.
